HAWAIIAN WEAPONS
The Hawaiians were as warlike as any
branch of the Polynesians. Wars were frequent, for though high chiefs
succeeded to their positions primarily by inheritance, they had to hold
them by superior force of arms against
ambitious relatives or invading usurpers.
Thus, the high chiefs of the larger island districts maintained
the
nucleus of an army at their courts and used various weapons as you see
below:
SHARK-TOOTH DAGGERS
Though
primarily a club, the shark-tooth dagger is a hybrid between a
shark-tooth club and a bludgeon dagger.
