Tess Rumley Biography

Tess Villegas-Rumley
Tess Villegas-Rumley is a Filipino
artist whose talent she believes is purely a gift
from God. At an early
age, she knew she’s been endowed with such an awesome
talent, but it
was only when she reached thirty that she seriously started to explore
and unravel the richness of her creativity and imagination.
She does portraits and
creates mostly flowers, landscapes and seascapes.
Oil and Oil pastel are her
favorite media.
She had conducted 3 solo
art exhibits. The first one was in 2001 entitled: God’s
Gifts; the 2nd was in 2004 entitled “Paradise”
and the 3rd one was
in 2005 entitled
“Bits & Pieces. ” Those were all
exhibited in the Philippines.
In 2002, she was
privileged to be
commissioned by George Quine, an Australian
philantropist to do a 3’x 50’ mural depicting a countryside scenery in the country.
For 3 years that she has been living in
Hawaii she has created pieces of artworks
on canvas, t-shirts, and Hawaiian koa
wood depicting God's wondrous creations
such as the amazing
creatures “HONUS” ( sea turtles) of the Island.
Tess Villegas Rumley, is a B.A.
Literature graduate of the University of St. La Salle,
Bacolod City, Philippines. Surely, her literary background has greatly
influenced
her
passion on visual arts. The stories and poems
she creates are spoken and
written through the artworks she paints on canvas!
It is her wish that in sharing her gift to the world, her
artworks will
speak LIFE and
bring JOY to the hearts of her fellow human creatures.
Tess and her husband, Ron Rumley, who is also an artist, are the owners
of Rumley Art & Frame.
